HOW WE WORK – The 4 step process

CONSULT

We offer both short and long consultations.

A short consultation is where a representative of our team attends your property to prepare a quote for furniture hire and property styling. During this visit we take measurements and photos that enable us to prepare your quote. We can also provide advice at a short consultation about whether particular items in the home should stay or be removed, the short consultation is free of charge.

At a long consultation (up to 1 hour), our representative will provide you with styling advice for every space at your property. We will discuss the optimum floor plan, furniture proportion and placement, the best use of spaces, where to place artwork, how to accessorise and many other styling tips. This service is offered to clients who have all the furniture and accessories they need but just need some advice about how to pull it all together (or take some away) and present the home in its best light. The cost of this service is $165 (including GST).

QUOTE

Once our stylist has conducted a short consultation at your property or reviewed your floorplan (if the quote is to be provided by floorplan), we will prepare your furniture hire and property styling quote.

The quote will contain all the items we believe are required to ensure your property is ready for the real estate market. The quote includes all transport and removal costs, insurance, our professional picture and mirror hanger and two free weeks furniture hire. The quote may also include special notes to you about which items could/should remain in the home for the duration of the campaign.

Once the quote is accepted, both parties set a styling date (install date) which is usually determined by the date of photography and listing deadline.

Payment is then made to The VM Style Group and we secure a booking with our removalists and professional picture hanger for your preferred date.

SELECT

With two full warehouses of ever-evolving furnishings and accessories to select from, we are able to create a unique and personal concept for every home we style. Our stylists take great care and skill to ensure the colour palette, style of furnishings and proportion of every piece complements the style and dimensions of the home. Your stylist designs each space, taking into consideration the purpose of each room, floor plan, wall sizes, tricky nooks or spaces, flow throughout the home and the best way to present each space. The attention and knowledge applied at selection stage allows us to create an impressive, balanced and welcoming home that your buyer will fall in love with.

INSTALL

And just like that, your install date has arrived!

Our team of stylists and removalists carefully load your selected furnishings onto the truck and travel to your property. Throughout the day, the furnishings and artwork are carefully placed and hung and our stylists add the finishing touches. This includes your floral/foliage arrangements, placement of all accessories, cleaning of our furniture and artwork and steam ironing all bed linen. We then walk through the home from front to back with “the eyes of a purchaser” to critique our own styling to make sure every room is perfect.

Spacing and furniture placement are a huge part of our stylists’ role. We not only think about how a potential buyer would live in the space, but how they would move through the home during open inspections.
